• List the various strategies for sequencing HLA and give their pros and cons
• Discuss why HLA genotyping may be useful in a clinical setting and why
sequencing might be the chosen method in various circumstances
• Explain what is mean by ambiguity in an HLA sequencing result and how that
ambiguity might be resolved
• Understand and identify the ASHI standards that pertain to DNA sequencing
assays, and the quality control measures that must be incorporated into the test system.
